Work-Study

Work-Study Process:

  • TRINIDAD CAMPUS:
    Student views and selects the work study position/s on the TSC website (see below) or on the bulletin board (1st Floor Berg) by the mailroom to find position/s they are interested  in applying for.
  • VALLEY CAMPUS:
    Student views and selects the work study position/s on the TSC website (see below) or visit the Welcome Center (Main 104) to find position/s they are interested  in applying for.
  • Student checks with the Financial Aid Department to determine if they are eligible for work study.
  • Financial Aid Office will notify the Human Resource Department that the student is approved for work where HR will start the work study processing (student will be contacted via email to compete background check information and then remaining employee paperwork). Once these steps are completed the student and department manager will be informed, and the student will be able to start working  in their position.

If a student is interested in assisting in a specific area that does not have a current
job posting, they are encouraged to check with faculty / staff regarding possible job opportunities.


Work-Study Guidelines:

Student interested in a work study position:
Student must be approved for work-study by the Financial Aid Department.
HR Department will contact student to complete employment paperwork and enter student into employment system. All work-study students must complete entire process before beginning work and will not receive a paycheck until all necessary paperwork has been submitted to the Payroll Department.

Students attending classes may work a maximum of 20 hours in a calendar week up
to the total awarded amount documented in the final copy of their work-study card.
For purposes of the work-study program, Sunday is the first day of the week.

Supervisors/students are responsible for making sure a student does not exceed
their work study hours.

Students MUST be attending classes full time to maintain the work-study qualification, or their employment will be terminated immediately!
WORK-STUDY HOURS MUST BE SCHEDULED OUTSIDE OF CLASS HOURS.
A WORK-STUDY CANNOT WORK HOURS DURING THEIR SCHEDULED CLASS TIMES!

  • Accounts Receivable Assistant
    Student will assist in the fiscal services department. Duties include: assisting with sorting and organizing files and paperwork. Other duties as assigned. Simple addition and subtraction are required.

  • Administrative Assistant 
    Student will assist the instructor with administrative tasks. Duties include: Student will support instructor as additional point of telephone and personal contact. Student will provide clerical/tech support for classes, attendance recordkeeping, gradebook syncing, emails, meetings and calendar updates, organize classroom materials, filing, writing meeting notes, assist with electronic and paper documentation and helping w/various other administrative duties as assigned.

  • Advising Office Assistant 
    Student will assist in the Academic Advising department. Duties include: general office work, including but not limited to scanning, filing, greeting students for appointments, scheduling appointments, answering phone calls and taking messages. Other duties as assigned.

  • Arts Assistant (2 positions available)
    Student will assist within the Arts field. Duties include: various tasks that the Arts Committee has set up. Positions available for both Fall and Spring semester.

  • Art Studio Assistant (2 positions available)
    Student will assist in the Art Department in various responsibilities/ Student will supervise the studio for set hours in order to keep the studio open for art students and to assist them in their work as a mentor/assistant. Assist in maintaining studio inventory, organizing, cleaning, and helping with studio prep. Assist the art department with the Spring Art Show and The La Morada Magazine publication which includes some computer work (word, adobe training available). Other duties as assigned. This position will only be open to student enrolled in at least one studio class for each semester that they hold the position.

  • Athletic Trainer Assistant (4 positions offered)
    Student will assist the Athletic Trainer with pre-game set-up and tear down. Student will assist with maintaining training room to help provide a safe environment for recovery. Other duties as assigned. Training room hours 9:30am – 5:30pm.

  • Automotive Assistant
    Student will assist in the Automotive Department. Duties include: General clean-up, organizing tools, sweeping, and cleaning shop floors, managing inventory, maintaining shop supplies and assisting with other duties as assigned.

  • Baseball Field Maintenance (3 positions)
    Student will assist the TSC Baseball Coaching Staff. Duties include: General field prep, maintenance, moving dirt, etc. Assisting with projects to maintain or improve baseball field. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor, coaching staff, or athletic director.

  • Baseball Film & Video Assistant (3 positions)
    Student will assist the TSC Baseball Coaching Staff. Duties include: assisting the TSC Baseball Coaching Staff. Duties include: Record practice, scrimmages, and games for coaches & players to use for player development and player promotion. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor, coaching staff, or athletic director.

  • Baseball Laundry Assistant (3 positions)
    Student will assist the TSC Baseball Coaching Staff. Duties include: Collect, clean, organize and maintain clean uniforms and jersey storage for TSC Baseball Program. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor, coaching staff, or athletic director.

  • Baseball Manager (2 positions)
    Student will assist the TSC Baseball Coaching Staff. Duties include: Assisting Coaching Staff throughout Fall and Spring season with Baseball Management. Varied duties as assigned by Coaching staff.

  • Biology Lab Assistant
    Student will assist in Biology department as a lab assistant. Duties include but are not limited to: Help with set-up of labs/classroom, help clean, assist with greenhouse. Other duties as assigned.

  • Biology Lab Assistant
    Student will assist in Biology department as a lab assistant. Duties include but are not limited to: help setup and take down practical’s, organize lab material (organs), help manage the cadaver room and proofread assignments. Other duties as assigned.

  • Coordinating Assistant (2 positions available)
    Student will assist in Academic Department. Duties include, but not limited to: making copies, placing/collecting flyers/signs around campus, shredding documents, logging inventory, minimal physical cleanup and moving of materials in the Massari Theatre.

  • Custodian Assistant
    Student will assist with general cleaning and building upkeep. Duties include: Disinfecting, emptying trash, cleaning furniture, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and other duties as assigned.

  • Fine Arts Department Research Associate
    Student will assist in the Visual Art Department. The Research Associate will work in Ceramics to assist with curriculum development and support ceramic medium and resource research. The role involves researching contemporary ceramic techniques, materials, and pedagogy, providing detailed reports to keep the department updated on current trends. The candidate will also manage ceramic materials and equipment, ensuring efficient use and organization. Additionally, the Research Associate will collaborate with faculty and students to implement new curriculum content and enhance the ceramics program through innovative material management and research findings.

  • Library Assistant
    Student will meet and greet all students/faculty/staff and general public entering library. Student will assist with check-in and check-out of library materials, help patrons find & access library materials, work with library staff to catalog incoming books, carry out any additional assignments. Library hours: 8:00 am – 8:00 pm.

  • Mailroom Clerk (2 positions available)
    Student will assist in mailroom. Duties include: Processing incoming and outgoing mail. Student will receive deliveries from UPS, USPS, FEDEX. Students will check-in packages, sort mail and packages for staff and students. Students will monitor and track package pickups in logbook. Other tasks as assigned.

  • Makerspace Monitor
    Student will assist in the Makerspace. Duties include: Student will work a flexible schedule to cover certain days and times to monitor the makerspace area and to assure the  code is adhered to. Student will monitor users to be sure users are not abusing or removing equipment and supplies from the Maker Space area, monitor supplies, assist users when able and perform light clean up duties. ** A knowledge of some of the equipment is a plus but is not required. **

  • Marketing Work Study
    Student will assist in the Marketing Department. Duties include: Attending events on campus and taking photos/videos. Assist with creating graphics that help brand TSC. Take flyers around campus for upcoming events. Assist Marketing Coordinator with other marketing needs or other assigned duties.

  • Men’s Basketball Manager / Assistant (3 positions available)
    Student will assist in all aspects of the Men’s Basketball program. Including: team laundry, practice prep, gameday prep, working other athletic events, gym cleaning, bus cleaning and other assigned duties.

  • Office Assistant (Student Services)
    Student will assist in Student Services. Duties include, but not limited to: Assist with welcoming and directing people to correct resource person. Assist with answering phones, office duties as assigned including computer data entry, making copies and assisting with other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Soccer Program Office Manager (8 positions available)
    Student will assist the TSC Soccer Coaching Staff. Duties include but are not limited to: Filming games/training sessions, office work, game day stats, game day preparation, assisting other athletic departments or programs on campus and other assigned duties by the TSC Coaching Staff or TSC Athletic Director.

  • Softball Assistant
    Student will assist the softball staff. Duties include: Working concessions and assisting during athletic events, field work, line the field for games, laundry and other duties as assigned.

  • Student Center Associate (multiple positions available)
    Student will assist in the Student Center. Duties include: Vacuum, sweep, mop all areas (Center, office, kitchen). Take out trash, replace bags (wipe trash cans when needed). Check and wipe down bathrooms as needed. Wipe down all equipment when it’s returned (including TV remotes). For closing shifts: Close windows, close blinds and lock doors. Student Center hours: 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

  • Volleyball Manager (2 positions available)
    Student will assist TSC Volleyball Coaching Staff. Duties include, but not limited to: Assisting during practice (manage time, hit, etc.) assisting with travel and game day set up. Must be able to do laundry, practice 3 game set up. Set up camera to film games. Other assigned duties by the TSC Coaching Staff or TSC Athletic Director.

  • Weight Room Supervisor (multiple positions available)
    Student will assist with monitoring gym/weight room users. Duties include: Checking equipment and cleanliness of area. Enforcing posted gym and weight room rules. Putting weights away and maintaining clean area. Other duties assigned as needed.

  • Women’s Basketball Manager / Assistant

    Student will assist in the Law Enforcement Training Academy department as a Curriculum writer / reviewer. Day-to-day duties include: reviewing standards and curriculum requirements set by the Colorado P.O.S.T. as well as Trinidad State College. Duties may also include lesson plan and course updating according to Director’s standards and best practices. Between 10-20 hours per week.

  • E-Sports Arena Supervisor/Manager

Must be comfortable performing in a confined costume w/limited visibility and mobility. Flexibility in working hours (including night and weekends if needed). 15 hours a week or less.
